This annual celebration of Hieronymus Bosch’s work is held in his home town of ’s-Hertogenbosch in the Netherlands. Culminating in surreal floating procession of art and theatre inspired by the artists work.
In 2012 the theatre director Tet van der Donk and illustrator Saskia van der Linden created a piece using helium balloons and performers in small boats, the resulting piece is simply executed but visually striking.
Below you you can see the paintings that inspired the work, some original sketches and photographers of the final production.
This piece would work equally well floating along the lake in Regents Park or paddling along a mountainous seaside coastline.
